What is fixed and what may change

The list follows from article 73 of the Labour Code. Since 2023 Christmas is only on 25 December, and 7 January is no longer a holiday. Easter and Trinity follow the Orthodox calendar: 2 May and 20 June in 2027.

Martial law has been in force since February 2022. While it lasts, article 73 does not apply (Law No. 2136-IX, art. 6), so these dates are normal working days. Employers may still give days off in their own schedules.

Martial law was last extended from 31 October 2026 for 90 days. It has been extended every 90 days so far. We found no sign that the bill to restore holidays as days off (No. 14403) has been passed.

If martial law ends, the holidays become days off again, and a holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday moves the day off to the next working day (Labour Code, art. 67). In 2027 that would affect 1 and 8 May, Easter, Trinity and 25 December.
