What is fixed and what may change

Holidays for everyone follow from the Law on State and Other Holidays: New Year, Labour Day, Independence Day, Statehood Day and Njegoš Day. Each lasts two days.

If the first day of such a holiday is a Sunday, the next two days are off. If the second day is a Sunday, the next day is off. In 2027 this gives Monday 3 May, and probably Monday 15 November.

Religious holidays are not days off for everyone. Under the Law on Celebrating Religious Holidays, Orthodox, Catholic, Muslim and Jewish employees get paid leave on their own holidays and must tell the employer at least three days in advance. Orthodox employees may also take their family patron saint day (krsna slava).

The Islamic dates depend on the moon and are estimates until they are confirmed.
