What is fixed and what may change
Public holidays in Pakistan are set each year by a circular of the Cabinet Division. The circular for 2027 has not been issued yet; the one for 2026 came out on 19 January 2026. All dates here follow the 2026 list and are expected.
Muslim holidays depend on the sighting of the moon. We estimated them from the astronomical new moons. Each may move by a day, and the government may change the number of days off: in 2026 it moved the Eid al-Fitr holidays by a later notification. Ashura may fall one day earlier (14 and 15 June).
The 2026 circular gives no replacement day for holidays that fall on a weekend. The circular is addressed to government offices; exporters may stay open on these days if they pay their workers overtime.
Federal government offices work either five days (Monday to Friday) or six days (Monday to Saturday) a week. The page shows Saturday and Sunday as the weekend.
