What is fixed and what may change

Thailand has no single list of days off for everyone. The Cabinet approves the government holidays each year, the Bank of Thailand sets the bank holidays, and private employers set their own list.

Private employers must announce at least 13 traditional holidays a year in advance, including National Labour Day. They choose the other days from the official, religious or local holidays. If one of these days falls on a weekly day off, the next working day is off.

The dates here, including the Buddhist holidays that follow the lunar calendar, are taken from the 2027 bank holiday list published in the Royal Gazette. The government list for 2027 was not yet approved when we last checked, so 20 July is marked as expected.

Government offices usually also close for the Royal Ploughing Ceremony in May. Its 2027 date had not been announced. The Cabinet may also add special one-off days off.
