What is fixed and what may change

All dates follow from the National Holidays and other Public Holidays Act (Chapter 252): five national holidays and nine other public holidays. Good Friday follows the Western calendar: 26 March in 2027.

Holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday are not moved to a weekday. Since 2021, each such holiday gives employees one extra day of vacation leave for that year instead.

In 2027 three holidays fall on a weekend: 1 May, 15 August and 25 December. Employees therefore get three extra days of vacation leave in 2027.
