In many countries and organizations there is a rule for using paid leave depending on the worked days and hours during the respective year. For example: If you have 24 days of paid annual leave or paid time-off (PTO), you cannot use it all in January. At the beginning of February, you can apply for 2 days of PTO, because you will have worked 1/12 of the total amount for 1 month. Calculation: (1/12) * 24 = 2 days.
